57 escapee Chibok schoolgirls will soon be completing a rigorous post-trauma counselling that will enable them adjust back to normal life, Borno government officials have said. LEADERSHIP report gathered from reliable sources at Government Secondary School, Chibok that the girls have been camped at an undisclosed venue in one of the states for about two weeks now. It is expected that after the counselling, they would be enrolled in new schools outside Borno State where they would repeat their final year classes and then retake the final exams that they couldn’t complete due to their abduction on 14th April this year. Principal of the school, Mrs Asabe Kwambura, who spoke to LEADERSHIP Weekend recently, confirmed that the girls were undergoing the counselling exercise in batches to avoid unnecessary attention from the public. She however said the venue for the exercise was not meant to be disclosed in order to safeguard the lives of the girls. Borno State government had last month approved the sum of 150 million to the state ministry of health to organise post trauma care as well as other related medical needs for the 57 abducted girls as well as those in captivity, by the time they eventually got rescued.
