When you hear the name Dagrin so many things came to mind, some will say the best indigenous rapper Nigeria has ever produced, some will say classy rapper but I will a rare talent that we lost at his prime.
The Dagrin story is always a sad one for lovers of good music because no one has ever denied the talent of the amazing musician, some even compare him to 2Pac.
Since the emergence of Olamide, he has been keeping the pace and doing well in making indigenous Yoruba rap a household name in the industry and on several instances I have seen people say thank you Olamide for not letting the Da Grin’s legacy die.
The YBNL boss has never denied his love and respect for the late maestro as he always showers encomiums on him in some of his tracks notable among which is “Awon Goons Mi” where in one of his lines he said “Mo respect Da Grin woni bo wa laye mio le blow”
The baddo himself re-enacted Da Grin’s hit single Pon Pon Pon to show his love for him at his #OLIC concert. Giving him the maximum respect he deserved.
May the gentle soul of lyrical were continue to rest in peace.
