Controversial superstar singer — Chris Brown disappointed fans when he canceled a New Year’s Eve concert in the Philippines at the last minute because of a lost passport.
Chris Brown tweeted earlier on today: –
‘Due to unfortunate circumstances I can’t bring in the new year with you. Too bad since the Philippines Arena is one of the best arenas in the world! Stay tuned Team Breezy!!!!’
‘#TeamBreezyManila I’ll see you in spring!’
The organizers, Maligaya Development Corp., said they were informed by Brown’s local representatives Wednesday afternoon that he was still in Los Angeles.
‘According to them, Chris Brown lost his passport the day before the scheduled event,’ it said in a statement. ‘Hence despite having entered into a contract with us, Chris Brown would not be able to comply with his obligation to perform.’
He was set to perform along with other musical acts at the 55,000-seat Philippine Arena in the New Year’s Eve concert, which also featured a fireworks show.
Brown recently reconciled with his on-again off-again girlfriend Karrueche Tran, 26; the pair were seen together on a romantic stroll the day after Christmas.
She had earlier boasted on Instagram about receiving lavish diamond rings.
This had come as a surprise to fans as the stylist recently vowed she’d never reunite with the ‘Fine China’ hitmaker, who was placed on probation after beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, again following their split earlier this month.
