Bomb Explosion Rocks Polling Booth in Enugu

A car bomb explosion at the WTC Primary School polling booth in Enugu North LGA at about 7:38 Saturday has just been reported. No casualty recorded. Bomb disposal experts dismantled the second bomb which was timed to explode during the voting and detonated it at 8:45. As shocking as it might be, there was a third device which detonated at 9:05. Although journalists are unable to gain entrance to the place, a source said the bomb was laden in a Honda Baby Jeep.

Newly posted Commissioner for Police, Dan Bature confirmed the incident at the scene of the incident saying,’three bombs were found in a Honda Accord car with registration. Number KUJ 971 ABJ.

“One of the bombs exploded while we have just successfully detonated two. It was an Improvised Explosive Device, IED. We do not know who planted it. We are working assiduously to unravel the identity of the suspects. The suspects abandoned the car at the entrance gate. We are working to get the area safe.”
