The Supreme court have today ruled that Godswill Akpabio was validly elected as governor of Akwa Ibom State, in a unanimous decision.The court ruled that Akpabio was the right candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, which was what Frank Okon had been challenging as he also contested for the party’s ticket in April 2011.
Mr Okon had demanded that the court nullify Akpabio’s election due to the fact that he and his supporters were not availed the information on the scheduled primaries after the cancellation of the previous exercise.
