Edo Women Group Says Mrs Buhari Is Victim Of Rape

Edo activists urged women of the state to forgive Aisha Buhari, the wife of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, over the recent comments credited to her. Aisha Buhari during a women campaign rally in Edo state It all started during the Edo rally. The Internet exploded after Muhammadu Buhari’s wife allegedly described the women of Edo as “prostitutes”. By making a claim Mrs Buhari promised that her husband would eliminate prostitution of Edo women abroad, if elected. However, the statement was taken as an insult and was followed by harsh criticism from Nigerians. The saga has seen its continuation, as the concerned gender activists issued a response message containing that Mrs Buhari became a “victim of rape”, thus her words should not be taken close to heart.
