As the Fulani herdsmen onslaughts remain unchecked in the Northern part of the country, the herdsmen have reportedly left sorrow tear and blood in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Daily Independent reports that the herdsmen on Thursday hacked to death a prominent titled chief in Eke community.

It was gathered that the 85-year-old deceased whose name was given as Tagbo Oguejiofor, was working in his farm at Oma Eke in Udi when the suspected herdsmen attacked him.

According to a community source, the herdsmen struck Oguejiofor on the head and he died instantly.

A member of Eke Town Union who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that they have asked the police to bring to book the perpetrators of the heartless crime as well as unravel the circumstances that actually led to his death.

When contacted, the state’s police command spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu, said the command has commenced investigation.

“The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force through its operatives has commenced a full-scale investigations into the circumstances surrounding the alleged killing of a man as well as its motives at his farm land at Oma Eke in Udi local Government Area of the state on 19/3/15. The deceased identified as one Tagbuo Oguejiofor believed to be about 85 years had on 19/3/15 gone to his farm located at Oma Eke in Udi with the wife when some men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen struck and killed him as he was allegedly inflicted injury on his head,”
Amaraizu said.

A police spokesman and a legislator recently revealed how suspected herdsmen in Benue state killed at least 45 villagers in a bloody raid at dawn. Suspected Fulani Herdsmen also stormed a gathering of mourners in Yangal village at Zango Kataf Local Government area of Kaduna State and killed eight people.
