Police at the ‘B’ Division Police Station, Asaba, Delta State have arrested three members of a robbery gang who allegedly invaded the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BECD) along Asaba-Onitsha Expressway and made away with the company’s armored cables valued N9,248,000.
Public relations officer of the state police command, DSP Celestina Kalu who paraded the suspects before journalists in Asaba, disclosed that on May 15, 2014 at about 6:30pm, one Engr. Uwuigbe Emmanuel a staff of the BECD reported a case of robbery at the ‘B’ Divisional police eadquarters, Asaba, saying hoodlums numbering six invaded the company premises by jumping over the fence, tied the five guards on duty and made away with their handsets including the company’s property worth N9,248,000.
