25-year-old tenant beats landlord, 60 into a coma in Lagos

A man in Lagos has been arrested by the police after reports that he beat his landlord into a coma. 25-year-old Olayinka Ogunshola is said to have beaten his 60-year-old landlord, Salau Salako so badly that the latter was rendered unconscious. Ogunshola is facing charges of assault and attempted murder before a Magistrate court sitting in the Ojokoro area of the state. The accused was said to have committed the offence at about 8.45pm on May 31 in the Ijaye area of the state. The prosecutor, Inspector Lugard Ahonle said: “Ogunshola had an argument with his landlord, one Mr Salau Salako, over house rent during which he beat him into coma.” Ahonle further added that the victim was receiving treatment at the Orile Agege General Hospital. The case was adjourned to July 8 for mention.
