The female emir of Arnado Debbo,Gangwun Astadikko Buba Dimgyeb, Ma-Astadikko Buba, died in her residence on June 8, 2014. Buba was the paramount ruler of Ganye Kingdom and the woman emir of Arnado Debbo, as well as the only village head of the fairer sex in Adamawa State, was said to be the “seventh woman ruler after Gangwum Subsanin blazed the trail 250 years ago”. Buba was the village head of Dimgyeb in Sugu District of Ganye Chiefdom in Ganye local government area and was appointed the Nya-Gangwou (village head) on May 1, 2005. Buba died on Sunday in her residence after a brief illness. Her death was confirmed by the public relations officer of the Ganye Traditional Council, Alhaji Ishaku Babidi. Buba, whose age was not specified, has long been buried according to Chamba ethnic rites.
