The Ghanaian Black-Stars striker Asamoah Gyan has surpassed Samuel Eto’o of Cameroon and Manchester City’s Yaya Toure to become Africa’s highest paid sportsman as indicated by ESPN Magazine’s Money Issue salary survey project. Gyan who moved from EPL’s Sunderland to UAE’s Al Ain in 2013 on loan – will make a whopping $16 million annually as profits from salaries, endorsements, and private businesses. Manchester City and Ivory Coast star Yaya Toure comes in second place with a total earning of $322,000 a week and an expected aggregate of $15. 4 million per annum. *Togo and Tottenham Hotspur star Emmanuel Adebayor, comes in third place with an aggregate earning of $13.3 million per annum. *While three-time African Footballer of the Year superstar Samuel Eto’o earns approximately $13.337 million per annum. Nigerian midfielder John Mikel Obi didn’t make the list – but his modest £75,000 per week salary, fetches him an estimated £4,160,000 pay annually at Chelsea FC.
