‘We found no sign of Chibok girls’, Nigerian military says

The Nigerian military has said that it found no sign of the abducted Chibok girls while liberating communities captured by Boko Haram.

This was revealed on Tuesday, March 17, by Chief of Army Staff, Kenneth Minimah.

“In all the liberated areas we have, we have also made enquiries but the truth is when the terrorists are running away they also run with their families,”
Minimah said.

“And those we have come in contact have not made any comments suggesting that Chibok girls were there and taken away. But we are optimistic that as the war gets closer, the territory is becoming elusive to them (terrorists) and we will get further details on that,”
he added.

Minimah also denied that the army had hired mercenaries to aid in the fight against Boko Haram.

The Chibok girls were abducted on April 14, 2014 and most of them remain in captivity.
