The 13 Beauty Trends to Look for in 2015 [PHOTOS]

   

It’s safe to say 2014 was a big year for beauty. We saw a rainbow of hair colors, a lot of no-makeup selfies, bleached brows, baby bangs, and some wacky nail art. As for what is to come in 2015, we’ve made some predictions after poring over runway images, swiping through Instagram accounts, and taking notes from celebrities on the red carpet. 

DoroVibesNG is predicting an extension of the no makeup-makeup trend that will celebrate a beautiful, nude face. “It’s about flawless, even skin and defined eyes,” she says. “The kind of makeup you can tell you’re wearing, but it still looks natural.” And as far as color goes, Brown says we’ll all be thinking pink in 2015. “I think we will see a lot of bright, super-pink lips paired with a nude face.” This year’s favorite natural moisturizer, coconut oil, will come in handy to prep skin for a healthy look. 

From lobs to dewy skin, here are the trends to watch for in 2015. Get ready for another awesome year of beauty...

Bright Pink Lips

Bobbi Brown thinks pink will dominate next year’s lips. It’s true—the orangey-red that dominated runways and red carpets for years seems to have shifted to the back burner. The good news: there’s a bright pink to flatter every skin tone.

Dewy Skin

Fresh, dewy skin was a staple on the spring runways. Who doesn’t want to look glowing on a daily basis?

Negative Space Manicure

While cartoonish hand-drawn nail art may be fading away, sophisticated designs rule, like this negative space trend spotted here backstage at the spring Creatures of Comfort show.

The Lob

Thank you Kristin Ess—she’s responsible for Lauren Conrad and Lucy Hale’s new shorter ‘dos—for making all of us in the office want a lob. Expect to see a whole lot more of this cut in 2015.

 Coconut Oil
Whether you’re using it as a makeup remover or a hair mask, coconut oil packs a serious beauty punch. We expect to see coconut-based products in every beauty store aisle.

Metallic Accents
Dries Van Noten made a serious metallic statement with painted on lip rings during his spring 2015 show. While this look isn’t for everyone, we think there will be a lot more metallic eyeliner and mascara in our future.

Balayage Hair
Move over ombré! Balayage hair color is here to stay. The painted-on process gives hair a natural, sunkissed look, which is why celebrities like Jessica Biel are giving it a go.

The Nude Face
No-makeup makeup was the biggest runway trend for spring, and it’s easy to get on board. The look is all about just enhancing your natural beauty—like hiding dark circles and bringing out a realistic flush—with minimal products.

Makeup as Skincare
At the end of this year, we started to see more long-wear makeup products that boasted powerful treatments—think antioxidant-packed foundations and anti-aging concealers. This is only the beginning.

Braids Are Back
But did they really ever go anywhere? From Michael Kors to Donna Karan, the spring runways were full of braids. We really like this classic style from the Peter Som show. Graphic Eyeliner
We love a cat eye as much as the next gal, but plan to step up your liner game and go for something a bit more graphic, like this bold look from the spring Saint Laurent show.

Crimped Hair
The ‘90s have been back for a while and now, but this late ‘80s look made a comeback on runways like Stella McCartney. Done in the right, tasteful way, crimped hair is at the top of our to-do list for 2015.

All Natural Products
The market for all-natural, chemical-free products expanded greatly in 2014 to meet consumer demands for alternative ingredients. Based on the products arriving at our office daily, we know this area is about to explode with new options.
